Looking for Beginner SPS for my reef tank....

I would like to add an easy / beginner SPS coral to my reef tank, and
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to work something out with me....
(purchase / trade). I've read that some easier ones are:
Montipora Digitata (preferred), Acropora Millepora, Pocillipora, Stylophora, and Montipora Capricornis, Pink Hysterix?

I am open for suggestions, but would like to incorporate SPS into my reef.

Thanks everyone,

Wes

I have a Idaho Grape that won't stop! I have to whack it down all the time. Have a mounted frag super big ready to go, $10

I give stuff away all the time.

Where are you located?

(North denver, commerce city, or Highland's ranch....makes a big difference )

If you enter more detailed info in your profile it lets us know if it is even worth the trouble of responding.

No-one's going to drive 50 miles for a free frag.

I have a bunch of easy stuff, but I need to dose for red bugs and I have been too busy to work on the tank any more than regular maintenance. I also drive from Aurora to Loveland all week if anyone ever need anything transported, though I don't want to drive any more than I already do.

Thanks for responding everyone, I would be interested in trading what I have, which isn't much as far as corals go... I have created a post on some ricordea that I have available.
Here is some info on me and my equipment:
I am located at I-70 & Kipling, and I am willing to drive for free frags!
I am running skimmerless and on double 96w power compacts in a 65 gallon.
I do have a sump and dry skim daily with floss from the drip plate. I dose brightwell aquatics "liquid reef" for ca, mg, trace elements. I change out 20% of the water volume twice per month.

Do I stand a chance at keeping some of these SPS's going? I do have plans to upgrade lights soon, but not immediately. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks all.

Wes

I'm going to say that your not going to have much success keeping sps. I've tried keeping them under pc, didn't work so well. As for running skimmerless, I don't think it's a big deal I just recently got a skimmer and have noticed no difference and rarely do water changes. However I will not encourage these methods. I'd also advise against sps for now till you get a higher intence lighting.

If you do try the sps they will brown out and sone will undergo a long slow death, maybe others had more success.

I understand the lighting requirements that most SPS's carry, I'd rather not watch them turn brown and waste away. Between T5 VHO, LED, MH, what would be best? I'd rather go with a fixture as I do not have a hood. Are MH absolutely necessary?

I may have to save a little extra and upgrade next month. If anyone wants to trade their SPS lighting for a wonderful 36" Coralife fixture with 96w 10k & 96w Actinics let me know! :)

Thanks,
