I am looking to add my first zoanthinds, I am looking for suggestions. I have the appropriate lighting and water conditions are very good. Take is approximatley 7 months old it is 100 gallons with 100 lbs of live rock. Currently I have a yellow tang, 2 tomatoe clowns, 3 green chromis, 2 camel bacl shrimp and one long tenacle anenome. Any way reccomendations would be helpful and a good place to buy them from.

If you've been able to keep your LTA for an extended period of time, then you shouldn't have any problems with Zoa's... I'd only suggest you start out cheap... lol Nah, you can't hardly kill a lot of zoa's so find a color morph you like and pick it up... Once you feel confident, move on to some of the more exotic, sought after zoa's... My favorite indestructible colony is Fire and Ice... I litterally had a frag of them in a cooler this weekend with some ice and beer when I went to my club meeting... I handed the frag over to my friend, and he was like DAMN the bag is cold as heck... I told them they'd be fine and if he had any problems to let me know... They arrived home, thawed, and he said they openned right up... :D No surprise to me...

Any online store will do... And if you get cheapies, I wouldn't hesitate to send 2 day priority to save on shipping... There are a bunch of online stores that sponser RC... Just look in one of them...

you can get frag packs of 5 or 9 different morfs at Yourreef.com. He just opened a store near me and he's always got great zoas.

Cheap Zoas

Cheap Zoas

Marine Flora is having a shut down sell now. I just got 11 assorted frags delivered overnight for $100 flat. Sam is an awsome guy to deal with and always seems to throw in some freebies with the order. I highly recommend him.

Does the tank need to be mature to keep zoos? Mine is 2 months, parms:

temp: 80
SG: 1.025
Alk 8.5
Calc: 400
Amonia, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates = 0

Someone gave me a toadstool and a GSP frag both of which are doing great. I got a frag of fire and ice zoos online and it never opened...stayed plump for 2-3 days and you could see some color in the middle but now they are just wasting away. I did the iodine dip stickied on this forum and set them on the sand for 2 days them moved them up to an area with a little more flow. This is my second non-opening zoo. I guess I should just buy from LFS and see what happends. Kinda bummed at my black thump for Zoos.

I forgot about Sam, he's another local guy for me. Great to deal with, I didn't know he was shutting down..hopfully not for good.

ct_vol isn't kidding!! I was the one that got the fire and ice zoas. They were cold, I bet 45 degrees or so. I brought them home which was a 2 hour trip acclimated them for 45 minutes or so and they were fine. I bet they opened up within 3 hours. Zoas are VERY hardy. And all the diff colors are cool.
