Been in the hobby for 20 yrs and have never used a product that produced these type of results! You have to be patient and imo you need weekly WC to siphon off dead/dieting gha and of course cyano. After 7 weeks, dosing every other week cheato is alive not growing much but alive.i never had any dino do that was 1 less battle. My tank was well maintained but had 10 yrs of enbeded turf and some bryopsis
I don't know if anyone is dosing every day but I've lost track of all the different vibrant threads out there.
Following the directions on the bottle is a good idea along with some manual intervention if you have an issue like algae or cyano like pulling or siphoning and taking a look at nutrient control.
However, the owner and rep for UWC suggested two times a week dosing for those with heavy infestations.
Has anyone noticed their KH and Ca numbers go down after starting Vibrant?
I'm running a stable system with a doser (205ml soda ash and 210ml Ca per day) maintaining 9 dKH and 420 Ca consistently.
Started dosing Vibrant on 6/21 48-hours later 8.6 dKH and 400 Ca. Manually dose to bring them back up. Another 48-hours 7.4 dKH and 326 Ca. Dosed again to bring them back up yesterday and today I'm at 7.7 dKH and 383 Ca. Albeit better, still consuming much higher amounts of KH and Ca.
I understant Vibrant is mainly a biological supplement but could it be causing these big declines? I don't think it's the GHA as it hasn't grown that much in a week.
Sorry, I was traveling when this thread got restarted. I suspect that the other two posts are correct. Some calcifying organism likely is consuming the alkalinity and calcium. Coralline is a good bet. My soft coral tanks went through 2-3 dKH per day for years due to coralline growth.
