Looking for LFS

Hello,
I live in the miami area and am looking for a good LFS. I work in Broward and normally go to Big Al's in Margate. The place is amazing, but it is getting to be a bit of a drive for me. I know that Extoic Aquariums seems to be the place to go, but I was wondering if anyone else went to a reputable place. Exotic is way expensive when it comes to their corals IMO.

That is two I didn't know about so I will check those out. I work off 95 and Broward so those two are closer that Big Al's.

Thanks

Recently, I've enjoyed Reef's Edge - just east of the turnpike on Orange Drive (take the Griffin exit).

have you been to jaws? i went there the other day, great prices. i think 64$ for an xl purple tang. i was so tempted!. lol

I second the vote on Jaws on broward blvd. Just picked up a really nice med size yellow tang. They had them on special for 19.00. Everyone else was selling that at more than $30.

Reef's Edge also gets my vote. I stop by there all the time.

I will be stopping by Jaws tomorrow to spend my b-day gift card. It is about 1/2 mile from where I work. I am looking for some multi-colored ricordia and some zoos.

The zoos at Big Al's are about $49.99 no matter what their size. I rather get something smaller and let it grow in my tank. I have been nothing but successful with their livestock so far, but they are expensive.

I will keep the group updated...if you will listen (read :) )

I also shop at big al's a few of the people there actually know something.......have been to jawz, and looking for more LFS in the fort lauderdale area.....as Im pretty new to this Big Als, and Jawz are all I know......Does anyone have a list?

I visited Aquarium Concepts on SW 117 Ave today and was really impressed. They have a very large selection of coral. Tey have a lot more that Big Al's and their prices are better than Exotic for sure.

I picked up a large Frogspawn for a really good price and it is an awesome piece.

That list is very informative.

Guys, not to bash, but Jawz... their fish aren't the healthiest in general...
I've bought fish from them, with mixed results. Corals do a little better for me, but most of the corals I see there aren't the best quality either. Alot come in dead, not their fault, and their tanks are riddled with bryopsis. Larry's a great guy, and the others are good people as well, just their systems are not being run right.

Eperez, sw 117th ave in what city? I'd like to check them out.

I never bash without praising someone else... Quality wise, you can't beat reef's edge or reef life. Both have not bad selection, good prices, and healthy stock.

I haven't been to either, but feel the same way about Jaws. I went in with the intentions to buy something there yesterday and just wasn't pleased with the presentation of their livestock.

Aquarium Concepts in on 72nd st and 117 Ave in Miami. It is right across from The Melting Pot for those that are familiar with the area.

I've been going to The Fish Collection on 163 St just West of US1 in North Miami for almost 5 years and have yet to be disappointed.

Also, I started going to All Sealife on Pembroke Road just West of I-95, really nice people and always willing to help with tank issues/questions.

I think I have been to them all, from Cutler Ridge to Palm Beach and anywhere inbetween. I see no need to travel any further than Reef Life and Reef's Edge for corals, fish and live rock.

All sealife is very helpful but watch out for their fish...I bought 3 fish from there...it was from them that I first got ich in my tank! 2 of them died but the royal gamma Ive had for over a year and a half now....just watch the tanks you get the fish from there!!

I know...we could be standing next to each other. I guess we have to start asking..."Are you reefcentralling?"
