Looking for lighting

Set up a 40g bowfront for my daughter in her room and need a light. Anyone have one that they would like to get rid of? She would like to maybe do zoas and some easy corals.

46bows are usually 36" wide. I used 1 chinese black box over mine with the 90* lenses removed and it lit the whole tank pretty well. Also ran a 4bulb t5 over it for a while and the zoas grew fast under those as well. If it is just zoas and softies you may be able to get away with one of the cheaper LED units that is blue/white instead of full spectrum.

Buffalo. I have an old (new technology, figure of speech) 4 bulb 36" T5 unit, which after being in the hobby for 21 years has just been relegated to growing Macro Algae ...

It's an excellent, brand name light and is far more overkill than is needed for its current purpose ...

I'm all about paying it forward, in this hobby and life, so if you are interested, and still in need of a quality lighting fixture/solution, I would sell it to your daughter inexpensively ... Let me know your guys current situation/etc and I'll be in touch ... Light retails for an MSRP of approx $390, I'll let her buy it for $100. Barring an agreement that you two keep me informed of her progress, every so often : )
