Looking for NANO input

I've got one running at my school. Had it going really nice last year, broke it down for the summer, now I"m starting it up again as per your suggestion.

It's got a sharp light blue look to it compared to a 10K bulb. Easy access with this light fixture. Depending on what you add, you may have to light acclimate carefully. I've had mostly soft coral with no ill effects, but definite color shifts from the 14K bulb at school to my 10K bulbs at home.

I'd post some pics, but I just started the cycle at school with mostly uncured white rock and sand, so things are a little bright right now.

Any other questions LMK

check out nanoreef.com LOTS of people on there have aquapods in both 12 and 24gals with the light and post pics all the time. look under the all in one fourm

I had a 12 set up at one point and used the Kent marine biosediment for the substrate. Figured it would be easier to keep it in the tank than remote it and the results were actually noticeable over my other nanos with regular sand. Colors on both leathers and LPS were significantly brighter and the corals looked overall "healthier". I told a few people about it and those that ended up trying it had the same results. Not much to do with the tank itself but just thought I'd offer up the idea. As a side note, the construction on the aquapods is better than the JBJs and oceanics in my experience.

on the nano's i have had 10,15, and 40 i found the 150 to be a bit much for light. you have to really slowly acclimate them to the light. hence why i now have a 4 t5 fixture on the tank. everything grows and isn't getting burned by the halide.

i had a 70w current 14k bulb and i hated it. but dont let the bulb sway ur decision on the tank. ive got a ap24 and like it alot.

Hi Joe,
I've had an Aquapod for about 10 months now (also bought from Dr.'s Foster and Smith) and I love it. I did not go with the Sunpod lighting, but I think the tank construction is better than the Nanocubes (or several other manufacturers). I've been keeping mostly softies (with great success!), but have also kept a small porites alive too.
The suggestion to look on Nanoreef.com was a good one - the site is devoted almost exclusively to nano tanks.

I didn't like the sunpod 150 watt 14K bulbs. The color was to yellow. I replaced the bulbs with the phoenix 150 watt 14 k it had a more of a blue tint to it.

I was tired of the big tank and got a 37 gal red sea max. The tank is awesome. The thought they put into this thing is unreal. Everything from built in fans to power and skimmer. Just one plug from the tank.

Just great.

I found it a lot cheaper than dr f.

Sorry for the delay I have not been on in a while. I got it from pet solutions. They were the cheapest by $100's and offered free shipping via YELLOW trucking. I got it in 4 days comes direct from redsea in Texas. I love this tank. I will try to get some pics. Actually I just checked the website and it went up $100 since I got the tank. But the free shipping is great because it has to go freight.

Sorry I paid about $750 for tank and stand (shipping free)
you really need no extra equiptment as this is an all in one. I sold everything and paid for the tank. What a dream....

I have the Aquapod 12 w 70 W MH 14K and I love it. Finnex puts out a glass 30 gallon M-tank that is absolutely awesome. They have a refugium in the back with a light and everything. Cadlights also has a curved glass one with Hqi (I think 25 gallons) that I have heard good reviews about. Good Luck!
