I have a 54gallon corner tank (38x 27 "front to back"x 23 "deep") I currently am having lots of issues with my Flourecents, LONG STORY. I decided to upgrade everything. I am looking for something 300 total watts or more...does anyone here know a good inexpensive fixture that fits those needs? Any suggestions? I found an OuterOrbit 364watt fixture

But i really didnt want to spend this much. Ive been working on this all day when it all started with a replacement of a ballast or bulb. Please any suggestions would help. Im in much need og guidence. thanks for the time

you could try DIY option...?
Try Hellolights.com ...look under MH retro fit....
I just got a new MH system today from them......175w complete (DIY)...for 99.00 shipped.....

Are you serious, I was talking to a guy through there instant messenger today, but not about replacing everything. Ive been through pure h*ll with this today. The flourecents blew out not sure if its the ballast or switch or bulbs, no one has the proper parts in stock, so im just upgrading the whole thing, i decided. My corals are in need of it asap. But thanks for the suggestion you helped me out a ton!

I’m sorry to hear about your lighting situation.

I assume that you do not have a hood above your tank. While I am not fond of MH fixtures, here is a less expensive website from which to obtain the fixture you are considering:

http://www.marineandreef.com/shoppro/metal_OuterOrbit3.htm

I believe that this website also includes free shipping for qualifying items. I have ordered from them before with no issues.

Another way to go is with a Tek Light T5HO fixture from:

www.reefgeek.com
www.diyreef.com

I have never shopped at the last two web retailers but have seen posts that tout them.
