Looking for some dosing pump help.

Hello all,

I'm looking for some input on dosing pumps. Basically I am trying to decide whether I want to go with 3 individual BRS dosers or a Bubble Magus T01 dosing pump.

Pros of 3 individuals: about 60 dollars cheaper
Cons: timing each individual one, 2 more outlets taken up, more cords and space taken in my cabinet

Pros of BM T01: integrated controller/timer, all in one unit
Cons: 300 dollars is a bit steep

The reviews on BRS for both these products seem very favorable. I'm just looking for any input based on user experience. Thanks.

well, I guess I will give you a few other pros and cons from my experience with both, with the independent pumps you are going to have some more flexibility but you will need three extra outlets on your computer controller or three individual timers, with the Magus unit you could only dose one thing at the time, only one channel works at the time.
The magus unit timer is not as flexible as I wanted it to be, for example I wanted to be able to use it on a Natureef denitrifying unit but it didn't let me program more than one specific times for the dropping, you can make the pump drop more than once per day but it needs to be one single amount of liquid divided in 2,3,4..... times per day, so basically the if you need to drop 20 ml 4 times a day you would need to program 80ml x 4/day so it will drop 20ml each time, the doser will divide the dropping in four equal amounts every 6 hours starting on the programed starting time. Maybe the software is better now I am not sure but I found that it was not flexible enough for my needs.

I like my BM units . I have not tried the above post since I am only using 3 of the 7 available . A buddy has the marine magic unit . Cheaper than 3 BRS units and cheaper than the BM .They come in 2 and 3 pump units . His came with the tubing and the holder to connect the lines to drip into the tank . I had to buy mine as an additional cost plus switch to silicone tubing since it is more flexible .
U might want to look into the MM unit .
My buddy couldn't be happier .

check out marine magic dosing units on ebay. there is also a thread on here about the people that use them and love them. I think 200 or so for a 3 dosing pump unit.
