Looking for some used equipment . ..

Hey guys .. . so I finally did the jump into the sw world. I've been doing business with Reef Revolutions due to a number of recommendations and i've been pleased.

But the tank I'm using is a 29 gallon (shame on me for getting rid of my 55 gallon) and even though my tank is still cycling, I already think its too small. I am looking at buying a 75 gallon pine combo at Luv-a-Pet, but it's quite expensive. I was hoping to see if anyone had or know someone that has a good used aquarium, probably at least 55 gallon preferably larger.

Also I'm now realizing I also need other things like power head and protein skimmers. I am thinking these things are probably things you don't want to buy used, am I right?

One thing I'm definately going to be spending alot on is the live rock. I have been going in and buying about 10 lbs a week, but it's very expensive as I'm sure you all know, so if anyone has too much ;-) well I'd be more than happy to buy some good rock off someone, maybe even some that's not live.

My email is ljamie82@gmail.com. I'm hoping to buy one on monday, but knowing me it may be a few days later. Very eager to hear from any of you. THanks

Congrats on your decision to start a saltwater tank! Is it going to be a reef or a fish only setup? As far as buying a tank we have a wealth of great stores here in Tulsa. You might have already seen it but there is a thread at the top of this forum titled "Listing of LFS's". I would encourage you to check them all out as they are all great.

Purchasing used equipment is an excellent way of getting into the hobby a little cheaper, so I would encourage you to try and do that if you are on a budget. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a used skimmer or lighting setup as long as it is in good working order. A good place to look for used equipment is this forum. A lot of good deals can be found here if you look. Anyhow welcome to this wonderfully addictive hobby. Another thing you might consider is joining OMAS. There is wealth of great information and knowledge in the members. I highly recommend it. Not to mention free frags! Ask Jason and Jared about it they can tell you all you need to know. Good luck!!!:)

Like reefer said joining omas would be a great place to find everything from used equipment to great advice and coral frags!our next meeting is this tuesday at the Mercados if you are interested get back to me or keith or post a thread and im sure someone will get you directions and info.

I have a 55 gallon complete setup with live sand rock, and all the equipment, set up and running, including some corals. It has to be the whole setup though. PM me if you think you might be interested.

Well i gave in to the dark side yesterday and ordered a 72 bow from reef revolution. May not have money to put anything in it, but by god it's gonna be about as nice of tub of water as you'll ever see :-)

But I could still use like the accessories, power head, protein skimmer, lighting. . . I'll be buying all of that over the next few months probably.
