looking for storm trooper clown info

i've heard these called mohawk clowns also, you may look for them.
a had one that was paired with a regular clown but he vanished.

Aqualifeaquarium lists them as an item for sale. The ones that have been on DD recently really have not impressed me. OP, if you're like me then you are looking for the occy look with just the white spot on top of the head. My LFS owner is a really nice guy, ask and if your LFS does any business with Sustainable Aquatics then they may order you a pair like mine is doing for me.

There two strands of these fish originally starting with cquest I believe and SA has their own line which they call Fancy white as already mentioned. They do have Wyoming white mixed into them. I have a mature pair from SA lineage with "swoosh" like designs on both sides with the helmet. I have seen cquest lineage that look very cool as well but different designs .

Stormtroopers, "designer clowns", gladiators and fancy whites are the names I have heard out there for these fish.

The recent fancy whites posted on divers den have lacked quality IMO and have not has the helmet design.

Good luck finding a pair with nice designs on both sides with helmet markings. Very tough to find.

Maybe Matt from SA will chime in to expand on if his brood stock came from cquest or he created his own line.

This is my male only without the female in this video and the quality is poor, sorry:

Nice fish in the vid!

The Sustainable Aquatics line of "Fancy Whites" originate from crossing an "SA Fancy" (a variety of orange ocellaris selected for its increased red/orange color and black outlines on the fins and stripes) with a "Wyoming White." The Wyoming Whites were purchased (indirectly) from C-Quest when they were located in Puerto Rico. Some of these fish turn-out to be normal fancy clowns, but others develop the "swoosh" patterns, mohawks, and other unusual white markings. Hopefully crossing these patterned fish in the future will result in increased markings (and even some WW with nice black outlines) as the lineage develops. What is nice is that this strain has been developed by "outcrossing" the WW with the SA Fancy clown, resulting in a robust colorful fish and reducing the likelihood of problems due to inbreeding down the road. Other breeders have made similar crosses, so these fish are becoming available under a variety of names. HTH!
