Looking for suggestions for my 37

So, I recently upgraded the 20 long to a 37 and all is going well. I have 3 fish in there a present, an ocellaris clownfish, a starry blenny, and a coral beauty. They get along great. My Wife however does not like my stocking choices thus far. She feels I don't have enough "color" in the tank, and downright hates the blenny (my favorite.)

Unfortunately when looking at fish her tastes either go to larger specimens we should not keep, or little bullies like damsels and dottybacks. Any suggestions for a couple more fish I could keep that add a good splash of color without terrorizing everything else in the tank would be appreciated.

My corals are all low end LPS and some Zoas, and I have a like 6 snails and one peppermint shrimp in there as well. Rock is plentiful at around 35lbs when it was dry with lots of nooks and hiding spots.

I do have plenty of experience with aggressive fish from my Mbuna tank including a complete terror of a PS. Demasoni (my favorite,) but being new to the reef tanks I'd rather avoid a terrible choice, so "some" aggression is ok.

Thanks in advance... Pete

Royal gramma. Beautiful purple/yellow and not aggressive. One of my favorite all time fish.

Royal Gramma is def on the short list.

I've read from several sources that the orchid dottybacks are generally better behaved. Anyone have comments on these?

My royal gamma is pretty agressive. She chases my 6 line alot. Though with enough room and rock spots to hide it should be ok. i would go with the orchird if you wanted a dottyback. Though the RG does add a very nice color. This is just my experience though.

Hey Bud! Funny, That is the exact fish that I was going to suggest. I had a couple in my 180 and they added a nice "splash" of color. I also like the yellow clown gobies (they are small, bright yellow, and interesting to watch). And I would HIGHLY recomend a Lame Hawkfish...LOVE THESE!!! Again, when I had my 180 up, I was fortunate enough to get two of them to become a mated pair (This is hard to do from what I have heard).

I hope all is well!

I've had two royal grammas and neither was aggressive. They usually had a favorite hiding place they would stick around. Maybe my fish knew to give them space but they always seemed like model citizens.

In my old 29 setup I kept a pair of perculas, a red firefish and a royal gramma. I didn't want to push my bioload so that's all I had. They were all active fish and added up to a nice mix of colors. If I were to add one to that list it would be a yellow-tail blue chomis. They're also colorful, active and relatively peaceful.

I've always avoided dottybacks on reputation so I cannot comment on them. You might also consider giving your clown a mate. Clowns look best swimming in pairs.

+1 i also feel the RG will be less likely to go after any of the clowns when they are paired. My RG swims with the clowns and gives them no issues. she is only agressive tward my 6line. This is only when the 6line goes close to her territory.

Maybe some kind of fairy wrasse? They're quite colorful and always swimming about, and are non-aggressive. The solorensis fairy being one of my favorites
