Looking for two very hard to find fish

Hello all!! I'm looking for two very hard to find fish. Both are found in and around Japan. Hence why they are rarely shipped here because the Asian market gobbles them up. It's even worse now that the American dollar might as well be a peso. So what I'm looking for is a large Resplendent angel and a large wrought iron butterflyfish. Pics below. Thanks for any info. Regards, Tim

You mean Interruptus Angel. Try Sedar @ PhishyBusiness.com. He seems to have a good line with a japanese exporter. He generally has both of these fish a few times a year.
These fish are also only available certain times of the year. I don't recall if that is around now or in the fall. Oldtownaquarium.com also gets them but all of the places generally have around the same time.

You mean Serdar....lol
seems like everyone gets that wrong;)

I feel like a total retard for mixing that up. Considering I've been doing this for about 20 years and have been drooling at pictures of these fish since the day I laid eyes upon them. So yes I want one of those pretty angels!! :) Thanks for calling me out Trigger, I sure would of jumped all over you if would of made a mistake like that!!! Thanks I'm in contact with Phishy. Any other ideas? Thanks everyone!! Regards, Tim

Sorry about that myers I didn't mean for it to come off like that.
One thing to consider with the Interruptus: Try and find a smaller speciman if you can. The larger ones 5" + can have difficulty apapting to the warmer temps. of our typical tanks. If you have no problem keeping your tank a little cooler than size isn't an issue.

No trigger I was making fun of myself. I would hope you would correct me, as I would hope anyone would. In my head I knew it was an Interruptus but something happened in my head that I messed. Now that I made the mistake chances are it won't happen again. So if anything I thank you for telling me. Calling me out weren't the right words. As far as the temp. in the tank, I keep it at 76-77F. I'm a strong proponent of keeping tanks on the cool side because of a couple of reasons. One parasites are less active and I feel fishes metabolisms are working overtime because of the higher temps. What do you keep your tank at Trig.? Regards, Tim

wrought irons and interruptus aren't very hard to come by, but are crazy pricey now and always big. I've been trying to get small interruptus for a year or so now with the same response "certain times a year and all stay in Japan or go to Taiwan or hong kong" . I can get the bigger ones almost any time of the year but refuse to try them again after the poor success rate i suffered. They were 7 5" females and a 6" male...

Also, a thing to consider other than the adaptability to warmer temps as triggerfish stated is internal parasites are all over these guys. Vigorous treatment on the bigger ones must be taken and even then it isn't a guarantee.

I have never seen a wrought iron smaller then 6" come to the states. I know Taiwan had a few babies last year i believe (1-3") which were so awesome. Unlikely the US will see these though :)

One note on the interruptus, they don't like high temps at all. I had one for a few years and was doing great, a heater malfunctioned in a tank and raised the temp to 87 degrees. Of all the fish in the tank the only one to die was the interruptus.

Just a little warning. Would like to hear others experience.

Well I'm looking for a big Wrought. I keep my tank around 76.5. Is that too warm? I got quoted 1600$ from someone. If that's the case I'll be getting a Conspic instead. Thanks for all the input guys. Regards, Tim

I dont kmow much about them. But i live right outside of richmond Va and one of the higher end lfs had a somewhat larger wrought iron butterfly last year for 1k.

My lfs had a decent sized wrought iron in about 6 months ago. It hung around for a while too.(big price tag for a fish that many find unattractive) Haven't seen one since, but they usually can get their hands on interruptus whenever.

serdar had a wrought iron over a year ago that he had for almost a year i think before he sold it. very pretty fish.
