Looking for vendor suggestions for Clean up Crew

Interesting you mention them. I literally just ordered a clean up crew through them last week, and I was pretty happy with the results. They had some very affordable coral frags, and free shipping on the order.

I'd heard of them through another local hobbyist who had had good luck with them previously.

Is there a place where I can go to read the problems people have had with them? I like to promote businesses that treat their customers right.

Yes.. a small number seem to have "ok" experiences with them..
MANY do not.. a simple google search for "reefs2go review" should give you plenty to read..

Ah, I think I found them as "Aquarium Depot", didn't realize they were the same vendor.

Maybe check liveaquaria too. John has treated me real well buying rocks and CUC from reefcleaners, but for more specific animals LA has some kind of 'build your own' CUC deal and I think you can even put urchins and stuff in it, depending on what they have in stock. Idk if I'd put an urchin in a new tank, but just for example.

I usually skip crabs too, but I had a scarlet legged that snuck into a reefcleaners order and didn't hurt anything. I think my wrasse ate it eventually.

If you are going to buy the whole crew at once, you should have some algae going already so they have enough to eat.

Do you find that's the case if the tank has a bunch of empty shells around of various sizes for the hermits to move into, or does it not really matter?

That is the key have a lot of growth to feed the CUC. It's foolish to buy them when you are starting to cycle with white sand and rock they just starve.

That is the primary reason crabs eat the snails. They need food.

I'm putting in rock from TBS so my guess is they may have some initial clean up to start with as well as some LR from another mature tank. Hopefully that will help them keep busy.

A brittle and/or serpent. Thoughts on those?

They do have serpent starfish most of the time. Send John an email on the "Contact us" page and he can let you know when he might have more. I bought one from them once but it got beat up in transit and didn't make it.
