Ricordea yuma originate in the Indo-Pacific region. Ricordea yuma is typically larger than its cousin Ricordea florida. Typical Ricordea yuma appear in greens and oranges of various intensities. Rare specimens of the coral may be deep red and/or hot pink. The spirocysts on Ricordia yuma appear to vary, in size, shape and density from Ricordea florida. Another noted difference between Ricordea yuma and Ricordea florida are disk colorations. Ricordea yuma shows only some minor variation in disk color while Ricordea can have 6 or more colors.
