also, if anyone can recommend a place online to order dry goods, that would be great too. So far I've looked at saltwaterfish.com and liveaquria.com. Prices seem to be ok on hardware and I guess I will order tonight maybe if no one has any used stuff they are trying to get rid of. Not sure about ordering livestock off the net, they seem to be about the same prices as lfs when you include shipping.

I hate to say don't support a local merchant... BUT... small drygoods are probably going to be allot cheaper online. I'd do a froogle search but thatfishplace.com and bigalsonline.com are often pretty cheap but there're many others. If it was me and my budget was tight this is what I'd do -

* maxijet 900 - If nobody's selling them here get from online store.
* digital thermometer - 9$ online. Glass ones are 2$ at petsmart.
* refractometer - Check online stores but ebay's where I got mine for allot cheaper. Hydrometers work with fiddling if you want to save the 30-45$ for now.
* auto topoff - IMHO That can wait - they're like 80$ I think, I still don't have one for mine unless you count "jug of water"
* small submersible light - That's not a usual item. I've seem thatfishplace have them though.

Order it all from one store to save shipping.

livestock:
* cleanup crew - playa0069u and I could take you out to the skyway to catch all the nassarius, hermits, and cerith snails you would need. You might want to add some astrea/turbos though.... ya know... he just offered... so nevermind.
* pistol shrimp - Local fish store (if in stock). Shipping too much.
* cleaner shrimp - Local fish store. Shipping too much.
* brittle star - Local fish store, or you might get lucky and find them in the wild like the rest of the cleanup crew. I have one in my tank I caught in the wild.

Timers - Other than their size (block, not strip), I like the 8$ ones at Harbor Freight (on fletcher near USF). You can set them to on/off every 15 minutes... cheap wavemaker!

alizarin - you can catch nassarius snails at the skyway? I would like to get a couple dozen. Where exactly do you go and are they safe to put in your system?
