HI I just picked up my order from you's and i recieved a sms122 controller and the probe in the unit was totally dry. How would you suggest we go about this. Do I send it back? i really don't know..
I do have another ph controller sms120. I can use the probe from that to get the reactor going with the controller and send just the probe.

Hi Dave,

This is pretty common with the Milwaukee probes. When they are packaged at the factory with the solution they are expecting them to dryout before their first use. When the solution evaporates it has already left a coating on the probe tip to protect it. Once you receive the probe you can just rinse this off in water and then do your calibration and it will be just fine.

After this, you do need to keep the probe wet from there on out.
