looks like sand, but BB?

Can anyone show me a BB thet looks like natural sand? I don't mean starboard or anything completely flat. Has anyone sculpted small mounds ad dips out of something like silicone, sloped to the back, then embedded sand in the silicone? Would this work or would the sand have to be completely sealed deep in the silicone? What about fibergass bottom with sand sprinkeled on top of it while curing? I can work miracles (so to speak) with fiberglass.

Reason I ask is because, now, you all have me curious to see what affects BB COULD have. I ran SSB with little probs if any, but am curious to see if...

1) better faster growth can occour
2) less mantainence is required
3) less equipment and supplies are needed
4) I want hella flow

Basicly an experimnt to see if I notice any benefits. Only thing is I don't like the look of starboard or glass. I want it to look real, not have the bottom rock layer on one precise horizontal plane. Kinda a wavey bottom or something.

Look in the SPS forum, there have been lots of threads. Do a search on faux sand bed for starters.

This person a while back mixed his sand with a certain silicone in a five gallon bucket and then layed it accross the bottom of his tank and let it dry. So, Yes it has been done, but I haven't seen anything about it lately.
