loose power cord

hi Roger,
its end that goes into the motor block on the pump. if I move it, it will turn on but as soon as I let it go the pump stops.

A picture would be a big help. I assume you mean the DC tip from the power supply fits loosely in the female receptacle of the junction box at the end of the pump cable? If that is so, I can email you an easy repair. I just need your email and you can PM it to me.

no the other end of the power cord where the motor block and the propeller are...the part that goes in the water. I will try to get you a picture.

I don't follow, the one in the photo looks fine, is that the one or is it another? Is the cord pulled out of the motor showing loose wires? Anything on that end is not repairable except by replacing the motor. If it just pulled loose so the outer insulation is removed, it would be warranty, if it was cut or an animal gnawed through it wouldn't be warranty.

theres nothing cut on it, nothing gnawed on it unless my fish have big teeth...lol, it just stopped working. I was looking at the tank last night and noticed that the pump was turning on an off randomly. I took it out of the tank as soon as I moved the cord a little at the block the pump would stay on. once I let go of the cord it stops running. I dont see any fraying or pulling away from the block. The pump was bought in May, can I send it in to you for you to look at it?

Of course, in that case a wire is likely broken inside and it would be under warranty.

I know it sounds funny, but you would be amazed at some of what I have seen over the years, a puffer or trigger can bite through the cord like nothing and sea urchins will slowly gnaw off the insulation occasionally.

LOL...I am sure you have seen your fair share of things. I will pm you for the info and I am going to order another motor block now. It never hurts to have a back up for times likes this.
