ok so i was cleaning the media basket and making the tank look pretty when my light went out. So i called my local shop and they have nothing to replace it with. So i look up the bulb its 3 bucks but shipping is 15 and may take a week to get here. here is what i have

So any one have some ideas on what i should do? I am already getting some algae growth and my nitrates are slowely rising. Oh and ya this happened Monday night, i was hoping to find a bullb or light by now but i think its dying on me.

PS sorry for being so noobie.

You could always just do the clip on work light with a regular bulb till you can get to the store. It is all I have under my sump. Nothing fancy here :)

For Cyano I can get rid of it when in the beginning by water changes and if a big problem you could turn off the big lights for 2-3 days. Doesn't hurt a thing except being able to admire new corals.

Try checking your local hardware or automotive store. I have a desk lamp that uses a tiny bulb looks just like that, dunno the wattage on it, and I found a replacement at Kragen about 6 bucks

Bulb looks like a "10 watt 5 volt halogen bi-pin bulb." Not positive, check with fuge light manufacturer. Google it and see the results and shopping locations. Maybe there are next day free shipping. How about checking the auto parts, hardware, and light/lamp shops. Honestly it looks like a Christmas light bulb, but most likely will not work.

I personally do not like chemicals... Water changes.
