Lost on my next fish pruchase

Im not sure what to purchase next. I have looked and looked and seems everything I am considering might cause a problem. I am considering a blue assessor as my last fish but not sure on my next purchase. I have a 40 breeder.

Current list:

Black Occ and True perc pair
Starry blenny
Ruby head Wrasse (c. cynaoplaura)

I maybe replacing my scooter blenny that recently died due to a carpet surfing incident.

I would like to get another wrasse but very hesitant on doing so.

Not interested in firefish or cardinals as Im not too keen on fish that just sit there.

Its is a SPS dom tank. So no angels lol

I would go for a goby, with my top picks being an orange-spotted goby, yellow watchman goby, or pink spotted watchman goby.

Other potential choices: chalk basslet, royal gramma, and if you do not have shrimp a hawkfish.

IMO, I would not add another wrasse, too risky for my blood!

Hawkfish is a no. I have shrimp.

Any basslets or dottybacks arent an option cause I plan on getting the assessor which may be an issue

a blenny. they are great fish and i like the way they swim. Another option is chromis. i like the bicolor in particular. And if all else fails just get the blue accessor and call it a day. you can always add fish later if need be.

I would think you could get a flasher wrasse, McCosters but you do not have a cover. Golden midas blenny. Royal gramma.
If you have sand you could a jaw fish.
Angels don't pick at SPS much mostly LPS and softys. I have had a coral beauty that never bothered coral.

Still not risking an angel. Not worth it. Too much money on corals and Im not a fan of chasing fish out of an established reef.

My sand bed isnt deep enough for a jawfish. Its deeper than most but need about 2 inches more to feel comfortable with the idea.

And I do have a cover. I already have a wrasse.

I havent been too impressed on gobies. But the aurora looks nice. I might have to see if my LFS can order one.

In a 40g tank...?

A lyretail would be fine. I have considered it. Anthias actually arent like tangs where they need the swimming room.

I tried a Kole, didnt work out. He was actually fine in the tank but everyone else was ****ed off about it.

I would remove the black clown and add another fairy/flasher wrasse.

When your percs start spawning the black one is a goner.

"spawning".

I understood the OP to mean he has two clowns, one black occ and one true perc, making up a pair.

Ok I thought so. I had to make sure. Yes they are paired up and neither is going anywhere. They are too happy together. Cant keep them away from each other.

I'm guessing Stacey read your post to mean you have a pair of percs, and a third clown, the black occelaris.
