well lost power yesterday in the storm and decided about 9pm i was going to move the fish over to my inlaws who had power. i managed to get my tusk and puffer but could not get any of my small damsels out. i woke up today to find the house at 50 degrees and the tank was holding at 63 degree . i thought for sure everything was lost ,there where 5 small damsels and two urchins in the tank with a few coral frags and cuc. the power came back on at 145pm today and i started the pumps and threw a couple of extra heaters in the tank,to my surprise everyything survied except my coral frags and some of the cuc, i couldnt believe it! simply amazing the fish survied and the urchins! i really dodge the big one ! i hope everyone else made out ok!? :D

Loosing power this early in the snow season stinks. I would be looking into a generator for the tank if you can. Glad most of it made it too.

Glad everything turned out well. Well, apart from the frags and CUC...It's a scary time when the power goes out.
Power was out for a week over the the summer this year. Not a fun time to be without A/C in TN... We got a generator on the 5th day ( sold out till then )...We sure learned our lesson. I have more than one tank, but we didn't already have a generator because we just never get bad enough weather around here for one... This was a first.

thanks all !you really dont realize how attached you become to your fish until your driving around in a storm with two fish in a igloo cooler. lol!!

btw all the fish are doing well and a hermit crab i found alive today!

Man I have nightmares about this stuff. I have a battery backup, but after the storm (I'm in Boston if my avatar doesn't say it) I've got buddies who are STILL out of power. I have to imagine it wouldn't take too long for my tank to crash. I may have to invest in a generator...
