Loud drain

Nordkapp

I have finally plumbed everything, started the system and"¦"¦. it's very loud!!

I do understand the skimmer has to break in and I will make adjustments but that drain is something I really don't know how to deal with.
The level in the corner flow compartment goes up and down every few minutes but the 3 to 5 inches waterfall is pretty constant as the level in the drain compartment is lower than the DT.
Anybody can give me any suggestion about making the system quieter?

The tank is a 90 gal Perfecto with a Corner-Flo setup, the return pump is a Enheim 1260

To fix the waterfall, the Durso must be taller. Have it so the level inside the overflow is just a little below the bottom of the teeth. For the flushing, a little bigger hole in the top.

scott is spot on and you can drill a 1/4" hole on the 90 and put a 6"piece of ro water piping in it then you may be able to adjust the sound that way by raising and lowering it . also ,you can put a ball valve on your return and throttle the flow back a bit and that will quiet it for sure . sounds like you overflow isnt handling the flow and it is siphoning in cycles .
