I have a 48" maristar that I got used and one of the fans is very loud. I would like to change it out for a nice quite fan. I would love any help on which fan to use to replace it. I was also thinking of cuttting the power to it all together and using a different fan. Please any links or ideas would be great help.

Open it up and get the make and model number off the fan. Google search that model number to get the specs. Take note of the dimensions (typically in mm), voltage (probably 12V), CFM and Noise level (usually rated in DB). Once you have those numbers, google search the the fan size in google. Example: "120mm x 120mm fan" and note the makes and models in that size range.

From there narrow it down by CFM. You don't want lower CFM. You want at least the same or better CFM. Weed out anything with lower CFM. Once you have that narrowed down, look at the noise level. The lower the Db, the better.
