how do I stop my over flow from gurgling?

you can either buy gurgle busters for your overflow box or sometimes sponges around the tubes will quiet it a bit...

I use two Durso Standpipes on my set-up. Once they are tuned in, They're dead silent.
You can build one yourself out of PVC pipe.
