Hi there, I was told to contact you regarding loud 6060's. When I first hooked them up they were loud enough to be able to hear them from four rooms away. I took the impellers out and they looked fine, both the magnet and the impellers. I hooked them back up and they were still extremely loud. I was told to let them run and they could break in. They were a little bit quieter after a couple hours of running, still not acceptable quiet. I was told these were supposed to be so quiet you can barley hear them run. I have had them running a good 5 days they have not gotten any quieter. I have a Koralia 3 and a bunch of Maxijet 1200's and none of them are even close to this loud. You can still hear the Tunze's running from another room about 30 ft. down the hallway. Please let me know what can be done. I have heard these are very good and great customer service. I am not happy at all with these, they are way too loud. Thank you very much.

I suspect the bearing bush part 3000.62 listed in your manual just needs to be reseated. This is a bushing around the hole the prop assembly sits in, it is what the brake shoes engage on and it often slides forwrad in transport. You just need to push it back in. When it is out of position the brakes and prop can drag on it and make a lot of noise.

It is possible but not very likely, you will just have to check. Things I have seen happen is the prop gets a groove from rubbing on the bushing or the brakes may snap but if the brakes snap the pump doesn't work at all so I suspect nothing major has happened.

PM me your address and I will send a new drive unit, I am 99% sure this will solve the problem.
