Lousy Ebay Experience

Anyone have luck buying corals off ebay? My first experience was a nightmare. It went basically like this:

(1) Pay the seller for the zoas I bid on and won.

(2) The corals get shipped two weeks later. In the seller's defense, he did email to say that he ran out of heat packs, and was waiting for more. The seller also shipped a second frag for the delay. I figured that was very reasonable.

(3) The corals finally arrive. One is in a dry bag. DOA. The other has yet to open (after almost a month).

(4) When I let the seller know, he states that he'll be shipping a replacement out "on Monday".

(5) The following Wednesday, I email back. He says he means the next Monday. OK?

(6) The Wednesday following still no coral. Back to Ebay and give the seller a negative feedback.

(7) Now I get a really quick response from the seller. You'd think I just shot his dog. Tells me I'm impatient. Tells me I won't ever see a replacement. Tells me he's not liable.

Caveat emptor is Latin for let the buyer beware.

So here's the bottom line:
caveat emptor crazyreefing.

I had similar experiences. You're right, people go nuts if you leave a negative feedback. They don't mind giving you a crappy deal though.
