Love my 6025's but I need some help

Hello all. I own (3) 6025's and they have all performed almost flawlessly over the last 10-12 months. I am currently setting up a system that will use one of the three I own. I installed the third in the project tank and after getting the pump to flow outwards instead of in reverse it worked fine for a few days. Now it is making what I can best describe as a rattling sound. I have since shut it down and it is currently in dry dock. Also while removing it I had one of the plastic clips break off. I need to order a replacement. Can you please let me know what might be causing this. I wouldn't believe that having it stored over the last 3 months would have caused it seeing as before I put it back in the box it was thoroughly cleaned and rinsed. Please let me know what might be causing this. Thanks for your attention.

You likely purchased these before the change to the new clips a little over a year ago or may have gotten an older revision when you did if was done so after the change. I would contact Roger(rvitko) and he can get you setup.

As for the rattle have you taken the pump apart yet? If so is the shaft firmly seated and unremoveable? Is there a washer behind the impeller?

They are the new style clips. This was my fault for not supporting the magnet well enough while removing. The shaft is seated firmly and the washer is intact. Thanks for the response, I'll shoot Roger a pm like I have done in the past.

Gotcha, back to the rattle. When it was doing this was it pumping normally? Any chance it was the impeller hitting the housing like like it does at startup or was it a different sound?

It pumped in reverse at first, but that is not that's no big issue in my book. I can deal with a wet arm. No noise for a bit, then all of a sudden a rattle/buzz/skip. when I took it out I put it in a bucket of water and it feels like it has some sort of a balance issue. A choppy effect. I unplugged it and gave it a once over. Plugged it back in and it ran fine in the bucket for 2-3 days. Then in the middle of the night I hear the sound coming from the tank room. The best analogy I can think of is if you have ever worked on an engine and had the timing dialed in wrong it doesn't fire right, or skips. The power cord has never been wound tightly so I am not thinking a short. And there is really nothing to the business end so it is easy to see that there are no obstructions. I know that electronics all have a certain warranty period most being 90 days and mine are a bit older than that. I am waiting to hear from Roger to see what I can do to get it into usable condition again. The other 2 (1 older 1 the same age) have never given me a minute of trouble. So even if I am S.O.L. on this one I will probably still buy another one to replace it.

He might have you send them it in to get it straightened out but I am sure you will get taken care of. The pumps have a 2 year warranty from date of purchase

That's cool. I sent Roger a pm the other day to let him know about this thread. I actually still have the boxes they were sent to me in by Premium Aquatics so shipping it back will be a breeze.

Sorry, my PM box was full but I have since cleared them. Why not send us the pumps and we will get all these issues sorted for you. A lot of design changes were made at the end of 2007 and the pumps may be older stock.
