Hey folks I was wondering what alk levels you guys are running your low nutirent po4 poor tanks .

For some reason I am having a hard time getting my reactor dialed in enough to maintain 10dkh so it has been sitting stable at 8.3 dkh.

Don't those who use zeovit run lower alk levels ?If so what reason is it to bring things down towards the natural level becasue of water quality or am I missing something?

TIA

I run mine at about 7.7 dKh.
The alk of NSW is 7.0 dKh.
My personal belief is that those that run their alk at extraordinarily higher levels than NSW are leaving themselves open to STN issues.

Even at 10dKh is 70% higher than NSW levels.
I know many will disagree but that is how I feel. ;)

Thanks!

That makes me feel better. I have tried pming others who run really clean systems about their alk levels and only get 1 out of 20 that will tell me . Some just plain avoid the question .

Where does your calcium sit?Oh sorry and the tanks PH?

My tanks ph is alittle on the low side IMO. 7.8 -8.1 and my 1502 is working over time at a ph of 6.5.

Low alk and low ph usally isn't a good combo is it ?

I am sure it dips a little bit at night now, especially since I no longer have a fuge.
I have to get up early so I will check.

My thoughts exactly.

I try and keep mine between 8 and 9 dKH.

Alk....9
Cal...480
MG...1300
PH day..8.1
night......7.9
TM salt, cal reactor, kalk, and MG boosters maintain these levels..

Alk: 7.9-8.3
Ca: 425-445
PH: 7.96-8.16
Mg-1280-1320
Sg- 1.025

We try to test every week at least for Alk,Ca and Mg- the Sg and PH are from the ACIII datalog- these #'s are from the last month or so.
