Low par acros

Hey is anyone keeping their acros under very low par?

I just picked up a par meter and was surprised to see that my carduus acros were surviving under 50 par. Unless I'm reading something wrong on my apogee. It is in the shade of my frag tank. I've tried to move it before into higher light but it started turning white. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I know they're deep water acros.

It was probably surviving at 50 but not thriving and when you moved to higher light it bleached from the fast increase. I had a hermit crab break a piece of my Tyree Red Dragon and it fell under sand and rocks. i found it a week later it was still alive.

you can give it more light but have to increase it very slowly.

Yes that sounds like what may be happening I'll increase the light
