When using the Tunze Ozmolater, what is the best way to send an alert before your ATO reservoir runs dry and damages the pump?

This is a non issue, the pump can only run for 10 minutes, after that the controller shuts it down as a safety and the too low light comes on, it must then be manually reset by cycling the power. While the pump can be damaged by very long continuous run times, it will not be damaged by a run time even triple the safety shut down point.

I had a pump fail and assumed it was due to the lack of water in the top off container. Perhaps the timing was just coincidental.

The pumps usually fail from age, they last 2-3 years. Use in kalkwasser will cut that in half. They can also sometimes snare a hair or thread or piece of debris and lock up or strip the impeller and another cause can be the wiring wicking in water if the connector rested in water at any point.
