I have a problem. I think I have a fish that likes to eat the flesh from my lps , I had a acon frag that was 2days old and was starting to look pretty good, I went to work and when I came home it was withdrawn and I could see some bare skeleton!I also had a brain that didn't last too long either( my girlfriend said my brain was dead long before that.I get no respect!)
I tried to keep an eye on it to see what was going on but the fish saw me watching and laid low....so I removed the acon to my refugium and it has recovered nicely. here's my fish list let me know what you think and how to remove (trap) the fish to get it out without tearring down my whole set up.

1) powder blue tang
2) 6 line wrasse (red sea)
3) Diamond goby
4) 3 chromis
5) flame angle
6)Clarke clown
7) scooter blennie
8) assorted snails and a couple crabs hermit ,emerald
9)shrimp peppermint (although he is M.I.A.)
thanks tony.

Agreed. Flame angels are notorious coral nippers / eaters. While they are beautful fish, I personally would not have them in a reef tank. That being said, lots of folks keep them with corals and they are fine. Roll of the dice. I don't see anything else on your list tha would be causing this. Perhaps the Emerald Crab? The one I used to have loved my montis. He is no longer with us...

Without a doubt, I would suspect the flame angel.

O.K. how am I going to get him out. I was thinking of building a Plexiglass box with a sprig loaded lid. put some food in the box and BAM. has anybody ever tried anything like that

I have caught more fish with a pop bottle than anything else. Basically you cut the top off a bottle and turn top inside out and sew it back on with fishing line. You cut a hole slightly larger in than the fish you intend to catch. Place it in the tank and bait with food. The fish swims in, gets confused and can't find its way out. It may take a few days to catch him but sooner or later it will work.

I would have to agree i have every fish on your list but the flame angel and none of them touch the acans. How long has the peppermint been mia? I put 3 in my tank last week and havent seen 1 since.
