Can someone please break down to me and tell me why I have problems with my LPS . All Im able to do is to just keep it , it doenst grow ...hammers, frogspawn, etc etc ...I do have some problems with PO4 but is that going to affect the growth of everything ?

I used to have the same issue, then within the last 1.5 years I have had huge growth. What are your water parameters. Also how often are you doing water changes? Do you dose anything, if so what?

What have you done to see huge growth?

To be honest I stopped changing my water, I used to try and do water changes once a month atleast. Now I do them whenever I feel like it, however I dose Mrs Wages pickling Lime in my top off water every other day, I dose Strontuim, Iodine, Mag, and baking soda weekly. I cant confirm that the lack of water changes is what has done it, but thats what I noticed.

I don't think these are particulary fast growers in general. It's not until they get to a decent size that they grow fast. One head might become 2 heads in 4 months, but if you had 10 heads then it could go to 20 in 4 months. of course that's an exageration on the time, but you get the idea.

Really need more information before offering advice. Firstly what are your water parameters and are they stable (I'm talking about months, not weeks). How long have you had the LPS and what do you mean by no growth. Many LPS don't grow particularly fast and can take many months to settle down especially if they're newly imported. Also do you feed your corals or have a number of fish that are well fed. All of these things will have an impact on the rate of coral growth.

I would say it is important to know what you are feeding them. I use to just let them eat fish poo and never had great growth. Then I started feeding the coral stuff like Reef Roids and I got them to grow very nicely.

i just recently set up a 70 cube, but have had numerous tanks in the past and most have been lps dominated.. ive always broadcast fed a couple times a week after the lights go out... i shut off my return and just give the tank a good heavy feeding of meaty foods.. always have had great growth in lps and zoas that way.. and will be doing this on my new set up
