LPS in Hyposalinity

In order for hyposalinity to be effective for fish with ich I think I read it has to be at 1.009. Can mushrooms and starpolyps handle a salinity this low.
Will it effect the biofilter of the tank to take it so low for several weeks to eradicate the ick problem I have.
Thanks

You are correct about the level. The shrooms and polyps will not last. Most things will die off from this low level, that is why I use it in a small hospital tank only, and the algae on the rock dies off and have also had aiptasia on the rock die off.

Only expose fish to hypo. Inverts will perish at the low salinity. Even LR and LS take a beating under such conditions.
