why dosent my rock turn purple like every one elses?

The "purple" as you stated it is Coraline algae which needs proper Ph, Calcium, Alkalinity and light to flourish. It also takes awhile to start growing.

all in good time, if you dont buy it with coraline algae on it that dosent mean it wont turn colors. it just takes a little while.
