LR half submerged?

in my sump i have LR rubble, but big pieces. 3/4's is submerged under the water at all time, and about 1/4 of it is on top and water being trickled down on it from my overflow.

is this bad? does it cause dead parts on the rock??

As long as its constantly wet I would say it stays live. If you have dry spots for periods longer than a couple hours you might see die-off. You can also tell by the smell! :hmm5:

The portion exposed to the air may be acting more like bio-balls.
