LR order fell a bit below my expectation

I ordered 35lbs of LR (foundation rock) and when i opened the box there were hundred of flies everywhere as if these rocks were never wet and the flies laid eggs on them. I put the rock in a small tank to cure and to my disappointment i found there were not a single live critters,pods, worms ..none whatsoever! I was told there would be something live in the rock when i placed the order and the online description on the website also confirms that but after spending a good 30 mins inspecting, it seems these rocks are void of life. I understand that massive die off will happen when the LR arrived but these rocks are barren.

After reading so many positive posts about liveaquaria on here i thought i'd give it a try ..just a little disappointed with my order

they were alive and flying all over the place ..quite impossible to take pics. They did sting me a few time and the bite was very itchy

I have had the fly thing many times- not from DFS- but its not uncommon for tranship rock.
