LR with ICH in QT ?

I had been battling ICH in my fowler tank and figured the best way to treat since I dont run a QT tank is to treat the DT with the LR removed. I romoved my LR and put it in a bucket. It has been in there about 3 weeks. I went ahead an treated the DT with copper and I am now approaching the end of my treatment. How long is the safe zone before I could put my LR back into my DT, without re-introducing ICH? The other reason I pulled the LR was to prevent massive die off and large anomia spikes. Lastly is there any bennifit to freshwarter diping my rocks, will that kill the parasite off as well?

The silicone (at the very least) in your tank is now impregnated with copper :(

This is why most recommend a QT tank that's clearly marked as copper-polluted. Invert's will not survive in a copper polluted tank.

You could really use some expert advice on how to deal with this - I am not :P My only suggestion would be to make sure you run Polyfilter (or an equivalent) so it can pull out any copper that leeches. It will also turn blue if copper is present.

What type of copper did you use? Is there sand in the tank? If it is chelated copper such as cupramine then cuprasorb (by seachem) does a pretty good job of absorbing all the copper. If there is sand in the tank then you are probably out of luck with inverts forever because the sand absorbs tons of copper.

yes I used cupermine and there is a sand bed in the tank. But it is a Fish only tank so there are no inverts in the tank so I not to concerned with the invert issue. But I guess my only other thought is that one of the rocks i pulled out was coveres in GSP. If I put that back in the tank will it just die off?
