LTA in the shade

Hi, I have a new LTA from Blue Zoo in my 300g display tank. It arrived in good condition and continues to have a closed mouth and a decent feeding response (although not as hungry as my BTA in the same tank).

It is hiding in the shade of the LR in near darkness. I've moved it twice to shady, but still visible, spots in the tank, and each time it crawls back into nearly the same spot. This guy should like lots of light and a good current and it is avoiding both.

Water parameters are good, 0 nitrates, although my pH could be higher. My lighting is 3x10000K + 2x20000K HQI's with a single 8 ft LED strip with dark blue lights.

Should I just leave him alone and let him decide when he's ready for the limelight or keep encouraging him to seek the light.

I would leave him alone for now. He'll move to a spot he likes after he gets acclimated. Give it time.

I agree to leave it alone. It is adjusting to your tank. My guess is that it prefers the flow in that spot (even if it is lower). It takes time for an anemone to get used to your conditions. It will eventually reach for the light (but might just stretch). I think flow has more to do with it than anything else since it didn't like the other shady spot.
