LTA problems. something picking at the foot?

This is the second time an LTA has detached itself and at the base of the foot is a small soar. Its only a few millimeters now, but the last time an LTA had this it quickly grew.

I know there are worms in that side of the tank.... Could they be to blame? The only other culprit I would think would be emerald crabs... But only the worms would have access to the bottom of the foot.

Any thoughts?

In my experience, any sores are a bad thing. They are usually a sign that the nem is dead and rotting from the inside out. I hope for your sake, that the experience is different. When nems die they release a boat load of toxins into the water. I would Quarantine it immediately.

Much like the first nem, this one got progressively worse. The name in other sections of the tank are fine. Its just that one area.. Very strange
