LTA question

I just aquired my first anemone on a trade. Its a pretty large LTA that outgrew its previous owner's tank. It was obviously stressed when I brought it home and was very reluctant to attach. Last night I turned all my pumps down so the flow wasn't overbearing and it did eventually settle down and bury its base in the sand. This morning, I gave it a small piece of shrimp which it ate readily.

My question is this. Since I got it home I noticed several of its tentacle tips look pinched and shriveled. Is this something I should be overly concerned about?

Since its still in the acclimation process, you should have no worries. Right now the good signs of it being healthy is it being sticky, attached and not bleached.

Your LTA could also be emitting waste which involves tentacle deflation. It could be just that too.

Sounds like a good start so far.

Good luck.

Its weird, they almost look pinched in some areas, almost like the twist in between links of hotdogs. Could this be damage inflicted when the original owner removed it?

LTAs (at least the M. doreensis variety) sometimes get funky corkscrews in their tentacles, maybe its starting to do that?

Well, I may have been a bit of an alarmist. The areas I was concerned with have inflated. Some tentacles still have shriveled tips but seem to be coming back. Thanks all.
