LTA vs Condy?

I just got a small nem and I was wondering if it is a LTA or condy. Do condies have spots on the under side of their oral disk? I know M. Dorensa's do, but I am not sure about condies.

The nem I got does have the spots and I am hopping it is an LTA.

It is my understanding that Condy's do not have the spots that LTA's do - but I've been wrong before. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. Can you post a pic? What color are the oral disk and tentacles?

I have a feeling that you just might be right today.

I have never seen a Condy with Verrucae.

Had a couple many many years ago, not a fan either. Actually watched my Clarkii pair love one to death.

Sure,

It has a nice red foot, long some what curly tentacles with a light purple/green color to them. It is some what bleached, but has a nice tight mouth. It seams to be loving the 250w light, because it is larger than it was in the store. I can not get a pic of it's Verrucae, but it defiantly has them. I will try and get a good pic when I can, but as long as condy mens do not have verrucae, then I have a LTA or m. dorensa.

yea, I have had good luck with the nems from petco. I have had one other LTA, and a haddoni that I had for over 2 years before down sizing my tank and taking them to a LFS.

Yeah, I work at PETCO and haven't had a problem with any of our anems. I just figured it had to be a PETCO for $6. I get so irritated going into work and finding out that someone sold one of the LTAs as a condy, or a ritteri as a sebae, etc, etc. Most PETCO employees couldn't tell frogspawn from an anemone (

I have a condy and it does have very small white spots on the foot. I also have a LTA and it has them to but they are alot bigger and brighter. I tried to get some pics, but I can't get good pics with my crappy camera.

Wow, you get mags in your petco! I hope they do well. I would like to get another one some day. Gave my last one away and I am still kicking myself for it.

^ yeah, I keep extra powerheads in the tank for em and keep em on the top shelf of my coral tank under around 520W of PCs, the usually do pretty well when in store. But i haven't checked on their survival with any of the customers that purchase them. Also get in monstrous Gigantea from time to time as well as tiny little haddoni.
