i have an unused 20 gallon downstairs and i was thinking of setting it up for a LTA and a pair of pink skunk clowns.

there are tons of threads about carpets, BTA's and magnificas...but it's not too often i see one on LTA's.

can anyone give me some info on LTA's? what colors do they come in? are they hard to identify in the LFS? ( i know many stores mislable) what about flow?

i have a BTA in my current tank, so i am not a "new comer" to anemones.

i know LTA's need a 4" sand bed...but that's about all i know.

thanks

LTAs aka M. Doreensis get about 2 feet long in diameter.
The can be brownish yellow, green, purple, green with white stripes, purple with white stripes, brown with white stripes and the rare color red.
They are easy to ID all you have to do is look for one that has long tentacles, has spots or verrucae under the oral disc (oral disc is where the mouth and tentacles are) they also have less tentacles than a sebae anemone (some people get confused with these.) If their tentacles are curly like a cork screw its definitely a doreensis.
They like a calm water movement. Where only their tentacles move but not their oral disc. Too much water movement will make them unhappy, detach and try to find a better spot.
Lights need to be T5s or Metal Halides.

I don't think a 20g long or tall will be big enough for this anemone. Even if you just have a few rocks, the anemone and a clown or two. The anemone will take over that tank. It will be ok as a temporary home while it is small but not as a permanent.

all Anemones get big. Even BTAs can get close to 10 inches.

10? Heck, I wish my old one was only 10 inches. It was over 15" when I sold it.
