Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse

I just bough it my first wrasse and is in a 20G QT , wonder if it will need sand for is cocoon or it should be ok with bare bottom.

I have also see some old threads that suggest to not QT cause it can die from stress.

What should I do ?

It will be ok without sand. PVC fittings will work well for hiding. They are normally a very hardy fish. Unless it came from a very infested fish store, your wrasse shouldn't require a medicine intense QT protocol. Good luck.

Mine swims around all day , with those a QT is not recomended ,they sleep in a cocoon of mucus keeping most parasites off them . acclimate and drop in . Other fish you shoulddef. QT but not that one

Lubbocks will handle qt just fine. It is good to do two rounds of Prazi. Don't do copper though, wrasses are very sensitive to it.

My Lubbocks sleep in the rocks and I have sand in my tank.

well he did ok last nite, didnt eat though but is fat should be ok, i will try to post pics of it since is in the PVC elbow.

QT every fish!
Are you saying that parasites only attack fish when they're sleeping? And that we shouldn't QT tangs, even though they're the most crypto prone fish?

Yea it was swimming fine ,today is on it side breathing hard.

I have the amonia alert disk from schaem and the QT tank has been running for over 2 months.

His stomach is big though, as if he just eat but didnt

I wanted explainso no one get confused. I have 2 tanks(qt and hospital) plus my DT, the hopital tank is a 55g that has all the fish that came out of my DT (ich treament tank) and the secong one is a 20g QT tank (where the wrasse and coral beauty are)

after 2 months the cycle is not done in my QT and killed my angel and almost took my wrasse
