i just aquired a lubocks wrasse for dirt cheap. petco had it marked as an assorted wrasse for $20. awesome looking fish and i want to put it in the display but i have a six line. right now he is aclimating in the basement holding tank. he will stay there until i get a definative answer. if no he will stay there until my new display goes up next month. then i will add both to the new tank and let them work it out. i watched the six line kill a royal gramma so im a little concerned. the lubocks was just such a good deal i couldnt pass it up.

Not a good idea, IMO.

If the tank is 200+ gallons, you might have a chance, otherwise I see this ending with the same result as the gramma.

I've owned two lubbock's fairy wrasses over the years. Both were very peaceful, almost timid, even after years in captivity. I would not recommend one with a six line.

upon final inspection and consulting the marine fish compatability guide in is a multicolor lubbocks fairy wrasse. it is happily living in my 100 gallon holding tank in the basement. according to the compatability guide they might learn to coexist so when my new display goes up they will both be introduced together.

Do not put them in the tank together, I repeat do not do it!! I have had a sixline wrasse in my tank for 2 years, the little guy eats out of my hand. I put the lubucks wrasse in in 4 hours the lubucks wrasse was missing half his fins and developed a quick case of ick. I am fighting to save the poor fish and getting a filled down hook ready to attempt to catch the six line. I learned the hard way, dont make my mistake!!

good luck!!
