Lugol's Solution Dip ?

id also like to know wat people do, b/c i already have some lugols on hand so mine as well use it and prevent a disaster.

well the directions say 40 drops per gallon, I usually have bowl with 2 cups of water so that equates to 2.5 drops, I make it an even 3 just to be sure :) Although I know one in the club who does a double strength just to be sure. 10 minutes, swish it around blast it with turkey baster water to loosen stuff, and viola ready for your quarantine tank :)

I do about 15-20 drops in about a 6-8 ounces of water, and let the coral site for about 10 minutes then dunk in and out of the water a few times.

same... except im using reef dip.

Thanks Chris, and Chris, I dipped the coral in question last night . I mixed 20 drops of Lugol's in a half gal.of tank water ,and let it soak for 15 min. It doesn't look so good right now,but I'm hoping for the best. Ted

ime the best way to stop rtn is to leave the coral be, messing with it only extends the problem. most rtn I have seen can be associated with low alkalinity.

Thanks Anthony, Now that you mention it ,my alk is the only thing that was low. ( 2.29 ) I'm working on correcting that now, with washing soda.

yeah i had a similiar exp a few days ago, after re-arranging i had a few acros start to rtn after being put back in the tank, i checked my alk, it was about where yours was, corrected it and the acros have halted, and im confident they will recover. i just have to keep up with it better.
