Lumenarc vs Lumenmax

Have anyone ever compare between the two reflector? Beside the size of the reflector and coverage area. Are there any different between the two especially performance?

So which one is better?

lol I was thinking the same thing.. Thats alot of info on reflectors.:rolleye1:. I read till I feel a sleep...

Hmmm.

Thats one for lumenarc and one for lumenmax.

Are you both reading the same data?

And what about the lumenarc mini vs the lumenmax? That seems like a more fair comparison.

Also I think the lumenmax may perform better then the luminarc. I have test both and got the same results from them both but the Luminarc was using a 400wSE and the lumenmax a 250wDE

You cannot go wrong with the original lumenmax or lumenarc (the performance is within the 5%+or-). They are so close you cannot definitively declare a winner.

As for the Lumenmax II vs the Lumenarc mini (SE bulbs) - I can't really say, but the lumenarc mini didn't fair to well when Sanjay tested it a few years ago.

As for the Lumenarc III vs the Lumenarc mini (DE bulbs) - I would expect the Lumenmax to win in this matchup since the Lumenmax was truly designed to optimize performance with a DE bulb unlike the Lumenarc mini which was an afterthought.

So maybe my comment about comparisons between the lumenmax and lumerarc mini wasn't actually appropriate?

I guess I'm not familiar with the original lumenmax and figured we were talking here about the lumenmax II/III.

Is the 'original' lumenmax a very large reflector like the original lumenarc?

Performance between the original Lumenmax and Lumenarc is pretty much the same. Since it's bigger (22"x22" > 19"x19") the Lumenmax provides a better coverage.

The lumenarc however does have a nice Air Cooling feature (option) but the reflector+socket+A/C can get a bit pricey...

If you want the best reflector and wish to save a few bucks then I suggest you get the Lumenmax...

But keep in mind that the Lumenarc mini wasn't set up in the same way as the Lumenarc and Lumenmax for testing. By Sanjay's own adminsion he used a 175W bulb on the mini test that never performed well in previous testing. The original Lumenarc and Lumenmax were tested with 400w bulbs. These would obviously give different par values then the 175w bulb.

Just some food for thought.
