Lunar pain in the wrasse

So against my better judgement I placed a full grown lunar wrasse in my display tank. I had a buddy who was breaking down a tank and this was the only fish he had left. He said he was just gonna flush it so I couldnt have that happen. I lined up someone I can give this fish too, but now I need help catching him. Ive tired the swoop and scoop and the fish is now all the wiser. So I think a hook and bait are the way to go. If you have tried this method please give me some insight. What size hook, etc. etc.

doode i recommend two guys or 3 nets to catch this guy out of the tank.
#1 "they are fast swimmers"
#2 try to block the area's with a net or two to try to catch em.
#3 just be patient with these suckers they know the tank so they can hide really good.

how big is the tank?

also if you are really planning to hook
this wrasse good luck they already know
they are in danger or ready to be caught.

I might have an easier way to catch it. I caught a really wily Christmas wrasse using a "Reef Gently" as a trap. I had to stop feeding the tank for 3 days so wrasse was good and hungry. Each afternoon I would bait the trap and hold the string connected to the door hoping wrasse would go in. He finally did and I let the door down and found him a better home. Just one more use for reef gently's great product. Not affiliated with them by the way. Good luck.

let me borrow your serval he'll get it1

I've used the hook plenty of times, get a small bait hook, make sure it's barbless, works every time. You don't have to yank him out of the water by it, as soon as he's on the line hold him near the top and go in with the net, but be quick about it, you'd be suprised how fast they can get off

i caught my lunar wrasse by using a small hook, i didnt feed him for 24 hours i purchased a can of small shrimp from the store, i used the tail of the shrimp because it will stay on the hook. i placed it in the tank the lunar hit it and i set the hook, End of story
