WOW......sorry to hear about your decision to sell the tank, but I cant exactly blame you with this economy man.....

S'okay tho...you'll be back with a smokin tank in no time....
Just post a link to the new tank so I can harass you over there!

Here is the 24gal aquapod that has been up since the 58 sprung a leak quite a few months ago. It's in the nano forum and I asked for it to get moved but it hasn't moved to the general forum.

Hop - It's cool I have a good feeling about it and love the space we get in our small basement living room. I still have the hoods buddy. I'm gonna use one on my 2x2 cube when I do that

Diaze - Hey don't fret man. It was fun but was better decision to help out.

Ok here is the deal jafish was gonna buy it this summer but I got a call from a buddy that is setting up some tanks at our local zoo. There was a 510 bow front that was donated but was 5+yrs old so when they put it on a new stand it decided to leak. So he was in need and I was willing. So it is going to our local zoo for a good cause. Helped me get rid of it and helped him out. Can't wait to go see it sometime

Ratpack -thanks

Bax - Doesn't hurt just wierd walking downstairs and not seeing it.

jnarowe - Yeah builds are quite a bit of the fun. Plus I have everything plus some for a 2x2 cube in the future. Will use my 2 tunzes and buy another. Use my Iwaki 55lrt return pump, current skimmer and ca rx. I have it all set. Yeah best for my yound family. Need some time with the pup. We are doing a LOT of training for Search and Rescue and hope to be cert in April Oh I'm gonna rock that aquapod. I have a red planet and hawkins echinata on order!

jnarowe - LOL that would be funny if Chuck woud have bought it.

aka_Willy - Hey I'm still in just not in the large tank forum.

maxxII - No worries I'm cool w/ it. Follow the link to my 24gal and join up :D

I have been super busy myself and I just logged and checked your thread. It is tuff. But I understand..So much time and money for this hobby. It is not like building a car where you can just let it sit for a few month neither. I will have to check out your new system. Good Luck

Thanks man.

Speaking of building a car...well...the money from the tank is going to rebuild my 1969 Ford Torinio GT's engine. Taking it in to the shop in march and having the whole thing redone. Keeping it stock as much as possible but making it fresh so it runs another 40 years

Lunchbucket's Nano is really coming about, thank you for posting about it Lunchbucket. Now everyone go to his thread and convince this crazy man to keep the brain! ;) I mean sure it's a monster, but it's such a beautiful monster! :D

see, that's what I call a "pro"...

"OK, honey, you're right. We'll skip the tank since it will cost too much, and instead we'll put it in the GT."

Makes perfect sense to me! :D

cool.. what motor??Almost stock means you can still do a little work to the little areas right? Come on just a light port and polish if your gona keep the stock heads? Possibly a little better cam and all the normal stuff. Guess this is where my compulsiveness come in. Either way still a sweet ride. heheheh

Electrobes - Thanks man. That brain is one of my faves even though it takes up my clam space :(

jnarowe - LOL too funny! I sold my motorcycle earlier this winter and used that to pay off some bills so I kind of deserve this IMO

eric - 351 windsor. Was a 2 barrel here is what I'm gonna do. Complete rebuild. bore .30, bearings, pistons, oil pump, etc. Keeping stock heads but redoing them ALL, new valves, seats, rockers, studs, etc. Adding a cam to match the rebuild )not sure how aggressive) and the Edelbrock RPM performer intake and 4 barrel 600cfm carb have sitting in my basement waiting for the ride.

Here is a 2 pics for you

I'm a car newbie but LOVE old American muscle. I want to learn how to do it all but not brave enough

Oh forgot to mention that this is my dads graduation present in May of 1969. Sold to my uncle who lives in Chicago now. I "co-own" it with my uncle

Great shape for being almost 40yrs old. Was in a quanset at my grandparents for as long as I could remember 80's till 2005 when I brought it home to my place

It's my uncles so he said he'd pay for it all and it is mine when he passes. Thought it should go back to the family. LOVE this car

Nice sentimental value too. It reminds me a bit of my old Cougar XR7. It had a 351 Cleveland, aggressive cam, open headers, Edelbrock Performer manifold, ignition, etc. and I ran it on a variety of fuels including aeronautical with a 1:10 ratio of Toluene. It could barely run in-town, but it really humped wide open.

I could easily post the speedo. Then it blew up. I was doing 150mph+ passing a cop on the shoulder of 280 in Kalifornia and got the old flame out the right side trick. It ran for about a week after that, and then seized up. Those were the good old days! :D

I'll have to upload pics of my dads Torino Cobra for some motivation. :) We did all the wok ourselves except painting and interior. It was a lot of work, but fun at the same time!

Sweet ride. My neighbor had a couple cobra Torino’s’ and a galaxy 500. His Torino’s were hot.. It is a real nice piece of American iron. I think I remember seeing it way back when checking out your website, I think.

FWIW You can goggle port matching for factory heads. That is something you can do on your own and save some dollars and get a few extra ponies that no one will notice. When you get your intake and exhaust gaskets just try and match everything to them. You can just get a pneumatic orbital grinder for about $20 bucks from Discount or any place like that. You can match your gaskets on your heads, intake, and exhaust manifolds (headers). Your intake should match but it easy to grind aluminum. The only thing to worry about on the heads is going too far into water jacket. I ported a pair of stock heads on my Mustang in high school and went a little too far and went right into the water jacket. Luckily 5.0 heads weren't hard to come by back than. It worked so well so I kind of always made it a point to clean things up whether it’s for a car or a truck. Make sure you get some decent springs to match you cam. Yeah I floated a valve or 2 in my day. heehehehe

I know there are some affordable stroker kits. I know there are a few decent kits on eBay. They can get up there a little but still reasonable.

Anyway let me stop before I get carried away. If you want any info just let me know.

I don't seem to have pics of the Cobra, but I do have some of the 70 1/2 Falcon which looks a lot like it.

Maybe that'll help motivate you a little!

eric - Hmm...will have to look into port and polishing original heads. Might be able to get it done pretty cheap while doing the engine too. I'll see

crab - NICE Falcon. What that have for an engine? 428?

Lunchbucket

Thought that thing looked awefully big! Did it originally have the ram air option or did you install the shaker w/ the ram air?
