I have an Emperor Angel that has been in quarantine for two months since he was purchased. After the first couple of days of being purchased he came down with what I orginally thought was ich, but it then grew to where I could see that it was lymphocystis. He's had two of the larger clumps drop off in the last week, all that now remains are two pin head sized dots. One is on his tail and another one on his pectorial fin. For some reason, these two spots were the first I saw him with, but neither one has really grown after almost two months. The other two spots grew in size and then dropped off. I'm wondering how long I should keep him in quarantine? I have read where lymphocystis can remain for almost a year at times, but I can't keep him in the small quarantine tank for that long. So I'm wondering at which point do I go ahead and move him to the display tank, even though a spot or two may remain. I have read mixed opinions on how contagious this virus is to other fish.
