Well after i got slammed on here over my copperband butterfly purchase, he died on day 7. Having died so fast however i doubt it was my husbandry that killed him so i guess thats...something. (first fish loss in 2.2 years not counting the ones who jumped to their death or the ones that died when i moved.).
At any rate i have decided to try another difficult fish (well in this case an intermediate fish)...i have an orange lyretail anthia which i beleive is a female. The had a redish one matched to this group of 3 orange ones so i believe that makes the redish one a male??). At any rate i didnt want the whole group in my 135 community and have read that they are best kept as a group or singly so i went with singly.
I am happy to report that this is NOT shy FISH. VERY MUCH at home in my 135 newbie reef. Wont touch flakes but eats pellets and goes after mysis like she is starving.
The tommi tang went after it hard right from the start but has not left any marks (oddly enough the tang is the one with marks) and i have not seen the tang go after it but once all day and ive been home all day watching pretty darn closely (working from the living room today).
I thought i would see if anyone browsing today has any experience with this and with this fish.
Oh and while im here posting anyway...my peppermint shrimp has attacked one of the heads of my torch coral, has not killed the head yet and i have moved the torch way up to the top of the tank where the peppermint does not like to hang out and increased my feedings but this has got me wondering if im not going to have to move that torch to my other tank for a while (which is a problem because i would also have to move my lights around again....)
Thanks guys!!
